Tours: The State Hermitage Museum

  <<Back Home

The largest museum in Russia and one of the greatest museums in the world. The collection was started by Catherine the II in 1764 with the buying of 225 paintings. Today the collection totals three million works of art: 15,000 paintings (by Titian, Rembrandt, Picasso, Matisse, Leonardo da Vinci and many others) 12,000 sculptures, 600,000 drawings, 224,000 objects of applied art and many other interesting things that are placed in 1,057 halls and rooms of the former Royal Palace. Stand in front of each piece for one minute and it would take you from 3 to 11 years to get round everything (every staff member tells this differently).

We will show you the most interesting exhibits within 2.5-3 hours.
