A real Soviet museum, founded by the order of the Communist Party in 1937. It was established in the flat that was used by Lenin as his secret address and is now one of the last surviving museums of Lenin in Russia.
The exposition reproduces not only the unique atmosphere of a typical Soviet museum, no longer in existence, but also the spirit of St Petersburg at the beginning of the 20th century.
In Soviet times, this museum was one of a few places recommended by the Communist Party for obligatory visits by school-children, and visits by tourists from different towns and cities in the USSR and other Socialist countries were also encouraged.
